SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® Silica Gel is a synthetic, amorphous form of the silicon dioxide, impregnated with an inorganic, eco-toxicologically safe colour indicator.
Humidity damages are coupled with high costs. A broad variety of products are endangered during production, storage and shipping, e.g. highly sensitive electronic building parts up to mechanical engineering products. The elimination of undesired humidity is necessary for various procedures. SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® - Silica Gel with colour indicator is reducing the relative humidity by adsorption of humidity from the surrounding air, so that damages due to moisture can be avoided.
With increasing humidity adsorption the silica gel is changing colour, offering the user a clear and reliable indication of the activity degree, for the timely replacement and/or a necessary regeneration of the desiccant.

The occurring change of colour from deep orange to almost white with increasing humidity is clearly visible and enables the user a timely replacement, in order to ensure a constant protection from humidity damage.

This is an inorganic compound, which is rated as not dangerous according to the effective EU regulations and therefore can be used for many applications.
- High performance:
SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® is a desiccant with excellent adsorption capacity. The low residual moisture ensures that the customer receives the product always in highly active condition. The material is multiply regenerative and therefore extremely economical.
- Damage prevention:
The high adsorption capacity of the indicator gel SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® is preventing humidity damages and is so reducing waste or loss of products, which are sensitive to humidity.
- Physical properties:
SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® Silica Gel is maintaining its dry, grained form also at complete saturation. The high mechanical solidity is guaranteeing only low abrasion during the application.
