SIOGEL® blue is a highly active silica gel with integrated humidity indicator: SIOGEL® blue is clearly indicating the increasing saturation with humidity. The saturation degree is being indicated by the change of colours, blue (active) and pink (saturated).
Micro fine pores are providing SIOGEL® blue an active surface area of approx. 800 m2/g and therefore a high water vapour adsorption capacity. The crystal form enables an intensive contact with the streaming gases at low pressure drop.
SIOGEL® blue can be mixed with SIOGEL® white at any ratio.
Application areas:
SIOGEL® blue is suitable for the dehumidification of compressed air, natural gases and industrial gases, aswell as a desiccant in laboratories.
(e.g. in desiccators).
It is applied in all areas, where visual control of the saturation degree is necessary or required.
Safety/ handling information
SIOGEL® blue contains the humidity indicator cobalt chloride (CoCl2). According to the European Commission Directive 98/98 EC cobaltous salts have to be registered. The legal and effective registration and application regulations have to be respected. Please find more information in our safety data sheet.
Note: Alternatively we are providing SORBSIL® CHAMELEON® with an eco-toxicologically safe humidity indicator.
